EASY KNIT
This Christmas Tree pattern is so deceptively easy as it is worked flat from the bottom up; made as a sleeve to sit over a foam cone shape. It is made in a plain garter/knit stitch where 'tiers' are created. Each tier is worked halfway up it's length, and increased by double the amount of stitches, and then cast off. The double amount stitches when knitted create a lovely tree-like ruffle. A new tier is created by picking up stitches from the stitch increase row which is halfway down the length of the tier, using a knit-up technique. The knitting is decreased at the edges incrementally, and seamed together at the sides to create the cone shape.

Notes
The knit up rows will be clearly visible as elongated sts created by the kfb st increases.
Mark RS or WS of knitting with a scrap thread to ensure you will be working on the side according to the pattern.
